Radium Girls
For Radium Girls, my goal with the lighting and projection design was to create a serious and straightforward visual environment that aligned with the gravity of the story. The lighting was intentionally stark and minimal, using shadows to emphasize the darker, more somber moments of the play. The projections were designed to complement the narrative, reinforcing key themes. By focusing on simplicity and precision, the design aimed to enhance the serious tone of the production, allowing the powerful story to resonate with the audience.
This was my first experience with content creation for projection. I had to learn to use softwares such as Adobe Photoshop and After Effects on my own, as no one in my department had ever tried to do content creation or animation for projection. We were using a minimal set with little to no movement for this production; because of this, for my first time attempting something of this nature, I am happy with how it added to the production.
